After a 30-year hiatus, the King of the Monsters returns and destroys a Soviet nuclear submarine, pushing the United States and the Soviet Union to the brink of nuclear war. Japan is subsequently forced to announce Godzilla’s existence to the world in order to prevent an accidental armageddon.
