The Big Lebowski

The Big Lebowski

Directed by
Joel & Ethan Coen

The Big LebowskiWe’re giving our “Noirvember” series a break this year, but you can still get your fix the first weekend of November with Alfred Hitchcock’s SHADOW OF A DOUBT and this Coen Brothers Cali-noir classic, which we somehow haven’t revisited since 2020… so down your White Russian, grab your ringer and come abide with us!

Jeffrey ‘The Dude’ Lebowski (Jeff Bridges), a Los Angeles slacker who only wants to bowl and drink White Russians, is mistaken for another Jeffrey Lebowski, a wheelchair-bound millionaire, and finds himself dragged into a strange series of events involving nihilists, adult film producers, ferrets, errant toes, and large sums of money.

“Takes a largely undocumented chunk of reality and twists it into a surreal comic film noir wonderland, full of delightfully bent characters and darkly hilarious set-pieces, gasser performances, great lines and right-on portraiture.” – Chicago Tribune
