Scruffy City Sisters present

Female Trouble

Directed by
John Waters

Female TroubleOur Scruffy City Sisters Exalt The Pope Of Trash mini-retrospective continues as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of John Waters’ FEMALE TROUBLE, a hilarious ripper about crime and beauty that stands arguably as the weirdo visionary’s single most essential work.

High school delinquent Dawn Davenport (Divine) runs away from home, gets pregnant while hitch-hiking, and ends up as a fashion model for a pair of beauticians who like to photograph women committing crimes.

“There is a fierce, maniac brilliance to a John Waters’ film which rivets you to your seat for the good reason that if you walked out in the middle… you’d never know what you missed.” – Los Angeles Free Press

The Scruffy City Sisters will be spreading the word about their community mission before each screening, and invite the audience to join them afterward at Club XYZ, where your Central Cinema ticket will get you in the door for free!
