Waters DoubleOur Scruffy City Sisters Exalt The Pope Of Trash mini-retrospective culminates in the filthiest double feature you could ever hope to see: 1977’s DESPERATE LIVING and 1972’s world-notorious PINK FLAMINGOS, which bookend FEMALE TROUBLE in the indelible “Trash Trilogy” that made John Waters a superstar in both independent film and freak counterculture.

DESPERATE LIVING | A housewife (Mink Stole) murders her husband, runs away and ends up in a town ruled by an evil queen (Edith Massey) who wants to infect her kingdom with rabies.

PINK FLAMINGOS | A bizarre woman (Divine) and her misfit family compete with a Baltimore couple (David Lochary, Mink Stole) to be named the filthiest people alive.

The Scruffy City Sisters will be spreading the word about their community mission before each screening, and invite the audience to join them afterward at Club XYZ, where your Central Cinema ticket will get you in the door for free!
