Deadly Prey Gallery Pop-Up Exhibition
Chicago’s Deadly Prey Gallery has carved out an essential niche in the world of movie poster art, working with Ghanaian artists to commission, collect and distribute (with all profits returned to the artists) spectacular hand-painted interpretations of everything from THE GODFATHER to AIR BUD. Central Cinema is thrilled to welcome Deadly Prey as they take over our space on Thursday, April 17 for a pop-up gallery exhibition including a merch table with hundreds of poster print options plus an optional screening of 1987’s DEADLY PREY, the cult actioner from which the project gets its name.
A selection of full-size Deadly Prey originals will be on display throughout the building and open free to the public from 5:30pm-11pm, though our auditorium space will be limited to audience members during our free monthly TAMIS PRESENTS archival program (6:30pm-7:30pm) and our $10 screening of DEADLY PREY (8:45pm-10:30pm). We’ll also be presenting a trailer reel of DP-featured movies from 7:45pm-8:45pm in advance of the feature.
