TAMIS Presents Free Screening Series
Archival Screening Night (Roadshow Edition)
This month’s Tennessee Archive of Moving Image & Sound Presents screening series zooms out from East Tennessee to spotlight the work of others in their field via the “roadshow” edition of The Association of Moving Image Archivists‘ Archival Screening Night.
This feature-length screening is free and open to the public.
“Since 1991, AMIA members have shared clips from their archival collections at their annual conference. It has been an opportunity for archivists to share with each other and to showcase recent acquisitions, discoveries, and preservation efforts… and many of the clips were never seen in public.
The ASN Roadshow is a chance to open the archive doors and share a sample of the magnificent spectrum of film and video collections protected and preserved by the AMIA community. It is also a chance to highlight the work being done to ensure that our media heritage is available now and in the future – from home movies to blockbusters to local news to educational films to eyewitness videos to cultural recordings. We’re particularly proud of the diversity of content and formats represented and the opportunity to showcase treasures that are culturally and historically significant.”
